Every Sunday and Monday, la Rhumerie brings you together for a jazz evening that revives the tradition of St Germain des prés during the fifties, and offers a selection of rums and West Indian cuisine (surcharge + € 1 per order on concert days).
Lucie Guillem & Band offers a vibrant tribute to George Gershwin, revisiting his great standards as well as lesser-known gems from his repertoire, often written in collaboration with his lyricist brother, Ira Gershwin. From “Summertime” to “I Got Rhythm,” each piece is rearranged to highlight the unique essence of the Gershwin duo. This project, designed for a quintet, also evolves into a sextet or smaller formations. Two voices respond to each other for the occasion, with singer Lucie Guillem and talented singer-saxophonist Tom Naouri. Their complicity brings a new depth to these songs, enriched by arrangements inspired by the interpretations of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, who breathe their energy and swing into this timeless repertoire. This concert promises to thrill the audience with a faithful but renewed interpretation of an unforgettable repertoire, in duo and harmony, in an authentic and modern tribute to Gershwin’s greatest classics.
Gaspar Berton: piano
Alessandro Torsiello: saxophone
