Logiaco & Marques — Cookin' With Fats Waller

At the end of 2018, pianist Alix Logiaco and saxophonist Florian Marques created the “Cookin' With” project, driven by the same idea of re-appropriating the mainstream jazz language of the 1950s and 1960s.

Drawing on their experience with Rémy Labbé's Bop Mood Quintet and, in particular, a sextet concert at the Chorus Jazz Club in Lausanne with Pierrick Pédron as guest of honour, they aim to make “Cookin' With” a flexible group whose vocation is to explore the musical universe of the artists who made the great hours of hard bop and current jazz.

On April 8, their program will focus on the music of the eminent American pianist Fats Waller.
