Triofola

Triofola

Franco-Senegalese singer Founé Sow has lived her life surrounded by the music of the Sahel. The daughter of a musician, she began dancing and singing to the rhythm of the percussion instruments at family ceremonies at an early age.
The power of her voice and her spellbinding presence perpetuate the Manding culture of West Africa.
Founé accompanies herself on the kora.
Violinist Catherine Masson adds a delicate touch to her melodies with the warm, deep sound of the 5-string violin. Her style has been enriched by her travels and encounters, from Eastern European Slavonic music to Mediterranean and African music.
Burkinabe guitarist Abdoulaye Traoré, founder of the group Debademba, is a virtuoso who charms and captivates with his groove and unique riffs.
Triofola is the fusion of these three identities: first a story of friendship, then the desire to bring traditional Mandingo music to life.
The trio presents a number of traditional pieces and compositions in which each instrument finds its place, and each musician brings his or her own colour.
Triofola's concerts are journeys where dance and improvisation are invited.

Founé Sow: vocals, kora
