A STRIKING DUET WITH GREAT SENSITIVITY AND ELEGANCE
Blurring the line between composition and improvisation, pianist Pierre-François Blanchard has spent the past twenty years exploring a vast musical landscape—from classical to jazz, from theatre compositions to French chanson—collaborating along the way with Pierre Barouh, Archie Shepp, and Marion Rampal. His first album under his own name, #puzzled, released in 2024, has been praised by critics as a true masterpiece.
At his side, like a kindred spirit and musical brother, is clarinettist Thomas Savy, whose style brings depth and resonance to this intimate work. With #puzzled, Blanchard takes us on a journey—a personal diary of instrumental songs, weaving a refined and delicate soundscape between jazz and early 20th-century French music.
In the magnificent 6th arrondissement town hall, lies the promise of an intimate and daring performance, where the meeting of clarinet and piano creates musical landscapes that feel both unfamiliar and deeply evocative, hovering between improvisation and composition. A true delight!
