Faby Médina Jazz Caraïbe is a profound desire to bring Caribbean culture to life through the language of vibrant and colorful jazz. The Caribbean is a musical crossroads where all cultures come together—African, Latin, and Anglo-Saxon—in a captivating dance, and it's only natural that jazz finds its place there.

This evening will be a tribute to the great Caribbean composers and performers who have taken this music beyond the Antilles: Al Lirvat, Henri Salvadore, Jocelyne Béroard, Bebo Valdès, Mario Canonge, and many others. This musical journey takes us from Guadeloupe to New Orleans, via Haiti and Puerto Rico. To enhance this music with its rich and varied rhythms and harmonies, we find Faby Médina on vocals, Jerry Léonide on piano, Ralph Lavital on guitar, Zacharie Abraham on double bass, and Kristof Negrit on drums.

Originally from the Caribbean and born in Paris, jazz singer Faby Médina comes from a family of music lovers. She began dancing at the age of 5 at her local conservatory, a discipline she practiced for over twenty years, including one at the Rick Odums International Jazz Dance Center. She experimented with several instruments such as the piano, violin, and flute, before finally choosing operatic singing at the age of 14. At 16, she began her training by joining one of the most prestigious Parisian gospel choirs of the moment, the "Gospel Chords Singers." Doors are opening and she continues to enchant concert halls and festivals, and to accompany artists.
