Wajdi Riahi Trio

On stage, three inseparable musicians with a solid, complicit dynamic, full of connivance. In June 2023, the band immortalized their second repertoire at the legendary La Buissonne studio, just down the road. Stambeli, like Gnawa music, forms the backbone of this second album. The organic architecture of these African and North African rhythms blends seamlessly into the complex, dense fabric of jazz. Wajdi Riahi's invigoratingly fresh lyricism reveals itself in each track. Each piece is a singular ecosystem in which the trio touches the earth and the heavens with the same élan.

Marseille meets Atlanta
Raphaël Imbert & Kebbi Williams

On the initiative of Raphaël Imbert, a tireless researcher in his exploration of improvised music, we are pursuing our ambition to preserve, in our Festival, a virgin territory conducive to the irruption of sounds, rhythms and feelings, never heard, never listened to. This is the territory of freedom of expression, not the kind that allows us to say anything about anything to anyone, no, a precious freedom, emanating from the deepest inspiration of musicians and incredibly attentive to the slightest signs, gestures, notes, of those who share this moment. Open the window wide! These moments are necessary, and when they're gone, you'll understand that they were indispensable. The happy complicity of these two saxophonists accompanies all those who dare, in a demanding and benevolent way.
