Five wind instruments resonate with a drum set. A passionate, organic fusion of melody and rhythm, each responsible for the other. Influenced by the sounds of Max Cilla, Ellen Arkbro, Nils Wogram, Ornette Coleman and Count Ossie, this sextet divests itself of instruments officially defined as bass or harmonic. A stripping bare to invite us to rethink our roles.

Hélène Duret
Hélène Duret is a French clarinettist, improviser and composer, born in Orange in 1988. She has also worked in theater, film and dance.
Hélène Duret currently focuses her artistic activity on musical composition, which she links to the exploration of improvisation, whether instrumental or sung, and the perception of sound as a palpable texture, thick, thin, complex, smooth or colored. To achieve this, she draws on the sensations of painting and visual art.
Straddling the border between Belgium and France since 2013, Hélène Duret develops her unifying spirit through her many encounters, bringing together artists from diverse backgrounds, all driven by the same creative energy, from which a rich palette of projects will emerge.
In 2021/2022, Hélène Duret is Laureate Jazz Migration #7 with her trio Suzanne, joins Tricollectif with her trio FUR, releases the second album of her quintet Synestet with the Belgian label Igloo records and enters into residency at the Cité internationale des arts where she develops her musical creations and turns to water as her main source of inspiration.
