Following an encounter with Michael Jarrell's Assonance IV in 2022, Maëlle Desbrosses and Fanny Meteier have never ceased to create a repertoire for this singular instrumentarium. These two musicians, deeply committed to creative music, began by commissioning an entire repertoire from contemporary jazz figures, building up a solid shared improvisational language.

At the same time, they devoted themselves to contemporary music, commissioning Yoshida Suiha's piece “Entre nous” for the France Musique program “Création Mondiale”, at the invitation of Anne Montaron.

Constantly pushing back the limits of their instruments, thanks to an intense quest for timbre, Maëlle and Fanny have quickly forged a sound and an exacting standard of performance that are at the service of inventive music that is resolutely of our time.

JAZZICS - Jazz meets classical
Every Sunday afternoon, 38Riv offers a unique program celebrating the meeting of jazz and classical music. From a revisiting of the great repertoires, to a meeting of instruments from different eras, to improvisational explorations, this new rendezvous creates unprecedented bridges between musical worlds.
The event is accompanied by a gourmet menu featuring coffee, tea, lattes, cocktails and pastries.
