Antoine Beux

Every Wednesday and Thursday, Cinq Codet joins forces with Alex Swing Events to offer you varied and quality jazz evenings, in the chic and cozy atmosphere of its Chiquette restaurant.

Violinist-mandolinist, performer, composer, teacher, and entrepreneur, Antoine Beux (aka Tony Bird) was born in Paris in 1991. After beginning his first lessons at the age of five, he continued his classical studies and began to create and improvise his own melodies. His encounter with Gabriel Majou (aka Gabe Bird) allowed him to discover the music of Stéphane Grappelli, as well as African-American (jazz, blues, rock, funk) and non-European (Indian, Indonesian, African, etc.) music. Their friendship grew stronger, allowing them to compose together.

He enrolled at Berklee College of Music and met new people, which allowed him to participate in several projects and create his second band, "2BIRDS BAND." Inspired by the repertoire of JUNGLES KEY, the ensemble quickly grew, performing in the Boston area. In 2016, 2BIRDS BAND toured Canada for concerts and workshops, and was later joined by other members of JUNGLES KEY for a tour of Japan.

Antoine has met and performed with some of the biggest names in music who have supported and inspired him: Al Jarreau, Richard Bona, Roy Hargrove, Didier Lockwood, Christian Howes, Billy Contreras, Nobuo Uematsu, Maxim Vengerov, Tracy Silverman, and more.

His infectious energy, his joy for playing, and his passion leave no one indifferent.
