A sunny figure on the new British hip-hop scene, Rejjie Snow comes to defend the colors of Peace 2 Da World, a third album marked by his nonchalant phrasing and soul influences.
A precocious talent spotted fifteen years ago with his first tracks, Rejjie Snow revealed his talents to the greatest number of people in 2018, with a first album nourished by an already rich career. Born in Dublin to a Nigerian father and a mother of Jamaican origin, he was still a teenager when he flew to Florida to play soccer on a scholarship. After a spell in Savannah studying film, Rejjie Snow returned to Ireland to devote himself fully to music. Growing up in a neighborhood where you're the only black person, discovering life and the world all at once - these are the experiences that run through Dear Annie, marked by a sharp sense of narrative. In 2021, Baa, Baa, Black Sheep delves into a vein both more soulful (samples, percussion and analog synthesizers) and more pop (an art of melody not unlike that of American rapper Tyler, The Creator). In 2024, Peace 2 Da World blossoms into a radiant eclecticism, where the most languorous soul rubs shoulders with rhythms and sounds brought back from Brazil.
