At the Baiser Salé, we take advantage of the summer to spend festive musical evenings at the Jam Estival Festival, from July 17 to September 2, 2021, every evening from 9:00 p.m. free entry. More than a simple concert, the jam is an opportunity to discover outstanding musicians, to see them having fun improvising together. It is the feeling of participating in a unique moment. One hour of concert lays the foundations and launches the theme of the evening in homage to an artist then a jam took us until the end of the night.
Saxophonist with a fleshy and round sound, identifiable from the first bars, Manu Dibango also knew how to be a pianist, vibraphonist, marimba player, could play the mandolin and, recently, the balafon. He was also a singer, arranger and conductor. The composer of Soul Makossa (1972), the title with which he had acquired worldwide notoriety, summed it all up in one formula, launched in one of those powerful bursts of laughter that he sowed on the fly: "I am content to do music. " pronounced jazz accents said to be from other horizons.
Stéphane Manga, emeritus bassist of Cameroonian origin nicknamed "Kool Bass" is an artist "beyond the border". It espouses the very principle of fusion! For this jam, a trio with universal influences: jazz, jazz rock, Latin, afrobeat!
A musical labyrinth, rich and exciting listening for an uninhibited and intoxicating Afro jam!
