With passion and vibrant energy of the New York City jazz scene, Thomas Galliano just recorded his first album in quintet untitled “Walking Towards The Unknown” alongside Myron Walden, Luques Curtis, Victor Gould and Josh Evans.
Born in Nice, France Thomas did not have to look far to discover his passion for music.
His father a guitarist and his mother a radio host, Thomas grew up in a musical universe by spending much of his childhood in rehearsal space, jazz festivals and radio hall.
At the age of seven, he was accepted to the Conservatoire National de Région to study classical percussion under the direction of Professor Jacques Carré. After graduating from classical percussion, Thomas studied drums with Jean Paul Ceccarelli and in parallel to his studies at the conservatory he studied with the drummer Jean-Luc Danna.
In 2002, at the age of eighteen, Thomas went to Paris to study with the percussionist Gérard Carocci and drummer Mokhtar Samba. After gaining musical maturity, he joined his father on stage to mark the beginning of his career. A few years later he would tour in Italy with the quartet of the great saxophonist Paul Jeffrey.
In 2011, Thomas made the move to New York City and has shared the stage with well recognized and respected musicians such as JD Allen, Dezron Douglas, Eric Legnini, Pierre De Bethmann, Eric Wyatt, Emanuele Cisi, Logan Richardson, Stacy Dillard, Benito Gonzalez, Ed Cherry and many others.
