Born in Paris in 1984, Antoine Karacostas began piano very young. Marked by listening to family records, he turns to 13 years to jazz. Having finished his studies as a sound technician he turned to the music profession. After a decisive meeting with the pianist Emil Spanyi (heard last season alongside Xavier Dessandre), he continued his studies with Benjamin Moussay, and graduated in 2010. He multiplies different musical experiences before launching his trio project in 2015, around his compositions and a jazz exploration of Greek musical wealth, which gives him "a light like no other". The first album is released in December 2016 on the label Parallel Record. A second album of compositions inspired by the Cyclades is planned for 2019.
Antoine KARACOSTAS, piano, Anders ULRICH contrabass, and Simon BERNIER drums.
