Eric Legnini "Six Strings Under" - feat. Rocky Gresset & Thomas Bramerie
As part of the festival: Django Reinhardt Festival

Throughout his career, Eric Legnini has crossed swords with some of the best specimens of the genre. Whether it is with the mainstay of the Flat Country, Philip Catherine, or the legend Toots Thielemans, harmonica player of course, but also skilful wielder of six-strings. With Six Strings Under, the pianist accomplice of Joe Lovano, Claude Nougaro, Stefano Di Battista, Aka Moon, of the Belmondo brothers or even Ibrahim Maalouf decides to make a kind of declaration of love for this instrument which has rocked all his life. But not only: in addition to a little nod to the famous Six Feet Under series, of which he is a fan, this record marks a return to acoustic and instrumental formats, two areas that he had abandoned for several years to concentrate on more electric albums packed with vocal guests: The Vox – Sing Twice – Waxx Up trilogy with Hugh Coltman, Mamani Keïta, Yael Naïm or Krystle Warren.

It's both a continuity, because I haven't changed my way of writing, very melodic. But it was also a break that gave me a real boost and therefore new ideas for composing.

Eric Legnini: piano
Rocky Gresset: guitar
Thomas Bramerie: double bass
