Felipe Sequeira Quartet

From John Coltrane to João Gilberto, Felipe Sequeira Quartet offers a fusion of influences with an acoustic sound of jazz and samba jazz bands from the 60s and 70s. To play a repertoire of compositions, arrangements and standards between Brazilian music and jazz, Felipe Sequeira's double bass is accompanied by Pierre do Sameiro on saxes, Vinh Le on piano and Bao Lao on drums.
 
Before founding his quartet in Paris, Felipe Sequeira moved from Brazil to Austria where he completed his double bass studies at the University of the Arts in Graz. His music could not be any different from his life: in the big bag of his instrument he brings back music from Brazil, of course, but also improvisation and other sounds that are the result of more than a decade of exchanges with musicians from here and abroad.
