Colors

Pierre Bertrand (Victoires du Jazz 2017) is proposing a new creation project “COLORS” in 2021 which explores the relationship between color and music, in collaboration with the painter Jean-Antoine Hierro. For him, the subject of colors is vast and fascinating: they are stimuli to the imagination, they represent codes, which differ according to people and cultures. An artistic collaboration with the internationally renowned Swedish trumpeter Anders Bergcrantz sparked in Pierre Bertrand the idea of ​​exploring “the sound of the quintet” around this concept of “music and colors”. To form the group with Anders Bergcrantz, he chose to use the energy of Pierre-Alain Goualch's piano, which he worked with artistically on the occasion of André Ceccarelli's ULTIMO project, the virtuosity of the double bass by Christophe Wallemme who plays very regularly in the group LA CAJA NEGRA and the savagery of the drums of Laurent Robin, drummer of the period “PARIS 24H” of the Paris Jazz Big Band.
