Olivier Roch Quintet

This quintet is the result of new compositions by clarinetist and composer Olivier Roch, who is also a soloist in the Nocuts quartet. 
If his influences range from John Coltrane to Tigran Hamasyan, passing through classical music or rock, Olivier Roch proposes here a music where rhythmic research dominates. A place of choice is thus made odd rhythms and other polyrhythms, without harming the very melodic character of the music. Accustomed to small duo and quartet formats, Olivier Roch opted for a quintet project with trumpet in order to approach an orchestral sound. For this, he surrounded himself with four excellent Parisian jazz(wo)men, members of the collective Pousse Pousse Production.
