Tribute To Elis Regina With Lucie Guillem Project
Bossa Nova

A great lady of Brazilian music with a tragic destiny, Elis Regina was born in Porto Alegre, a key figure in the nascent Brazilian popular music (MPB) where samba, bossa nova, pop and rock were mixed. A fervent and outspoken opponent of the military regime in power in Brazil since 1964, Elis Regina had to deal with the government in order to avoid the exile or imprisonment suffered by many artists at that time. She reached her peak in 1974 with the album Elis et Tom, where she recorded Tom Jobim's repertoire with Antonio Carlos Jobim.
A journey with many stops where bossa nova and different vocal aesthetics are mixed. The Lucie Guillem & Band project is based on original arrangements of jazz and bossa nova.
