Paul Lay's new trio program, “Bach's Groove” - a nod to Bag's Groove, the famous Miles Davis album - is a tribute to Bach, whose very rhythmic writing has, as we know, inspired many jazz musicians. . Revisiting some familiar pages of the master - the Preludes and fugues and two luminous choruses including Jesus, may my joy remain -, also giving to hear the astonishing Bach Suite by Oscar Peterson, rarely performed at the concert, he composes an unpublished score, playing on the contrasts according to the atmospheres and giving pride of place to swing and groove that he handles so well. The concert on October 15, 2021 at the Festival de Piano en Valois at the Angoulême National Stage was filmed. From December 2021, the recording of this concert will be broadcast on France TV and on the Qwest TV channel created by Quincy Jones.
