For this original creation initiated under the artistic co-direction of Mustapha Amokrane and Nassim Kouti, as part of the Magic Barbès 2021 Festival, the singers Souad Asla, Samira Brahmia, Cheikha Hajla, and Nawel Ben Kraïem pay a vibrant and moving tribute to the " Mamie du Raï”, mixing reinterpretations of songs by Chiekha Rimitti with pieces from their own respective repertoires.

Four women, worthy heirs to this major female and feminist figure in the history of North African music: Souad Asla, the Saharan woman, guembri player, perpetuating the Gnawa tradition of southern Algeria; Samira Brahmia, the Franco-Algerian who merges pop rock, châabi and ancestral instruments with finesse and enthusiasm; Cheikha Hadjla, with a powerful and inhabited voice, craftsman of a raï song mixed with the medahette style, these choirs of women that we hear at Algerian weddings and who collaborated with Acid Arab; Nawel Ben Kraïem the Franco-Tunisian who mischievously navigates between French and North African songs, hip-hop and folk; four singers of today for a colorful celebration of the one who will have inscribed her letters of nobility in raï, infusing it with a modernity, an openness and a radiance that this genre of music had never known before.
As part of the Carte Blanche to the interdisciplinary artist Rim Laredj, offered by the Espace Culturel et Social Aimé Césaire.
