Tribute To Bill Evans

 Although he was influenced at the beginning by Nat King Cole, Bud Powell and Lennie Tristano, B. Evans gradually discarded all these influences to impose a subtle and flexible style of playing, in which the art of nuance, harmonic richness and the refinement of the improvisation are important. He revolutionised the art of the trio by blurring the boundaries between accompanist and soloist and reinvented the way standards are interpreted with bold harmonic conceptions inherited from his impressionist culture and a developed sense of voicing. Pianist Richard Turegano will perform Bill Evans' standards, arranged and selected by double bassist Jacques Vidal, with Philippe Soirat on drums.
