Simon Denizart & Elli Miller Maboungou

The latest project of French pianist Simon Denizart (Radio Canada Revelation) entitled "NOMAD" is the result of a three-year collaboration with Canadian percussionist Elli Miller Maboungou, which mainly features the calabash (West African percussion).
Together, they form an original and dynamic duo that pushes the boundaries of traditional instrumental aesthetics and offers an eclectic journey through rhythmic, melodic and cinematic music.
Influenced by world music, jazz, classical and electronic music, the repertoire presents original instrumental compositions that allow to live a story on the theme of travel, migrations and human relationships.
Nominated in the Jazz Album of the Year category at the 2021 ADISQ Gala, the album expresses the universe and atmosphere of the two musicians' complicity.
