DWARFS OF EAST AGOUZA (Egypt, UK) - Premiere

From Agouza, their neighborhood and HQ in Cairo, American Alan Bishop (Sun City Girls and Sublime Frequencies label) and his Egyptian accomplices Sam Shalabi (Land of Kush) and Maurice Louca (Alif, Elephantine) created this totally unique trio ten years ago. Our illustrious seekers of unsound sonorities make connections between modal Arabic music and the most radical improvisation, giving birth to sound objects with resolutely out of the ordinary forms. An Arab-futurism that conjures reality and puts into play and perspectives the dogmas of ethnocentrism.
