Tribute To René Mailhes

Guitarist René Mailhes, whom we welcomed several times at La Mezzanine, passed away recently.

"Néné" was born in the "gypsy" musical environment and it was in contact with his uncles, Sarane and Baro Ferret, companions of Django, that he learned. However, his style will remain influenced by "modern" jazz Jimmy Raney, Bill Evans, John Coltrane...

To pay tribute to him, we invite Georges Locatelli, his very close guitarist friend, the pianist Patrice Galas who participated in all his recordings and the drummer Yves Nahon.

They will play René's compositions from his magnificent records, then we will invite all the musician friends of "Néné" to share this evening with them and to participate musically!
