Originally from Oak Park, Illinois, pianist, guitarist, composer, and improviser Rob Clearfield participated in various amateur music groups, gospel choirs, and South American guitar ensembles at a young age before moving to Chicago to study at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. Since then, for about fifteen years, he has been actively involved in the local music scene.
