Along with Django Reinhardt and Charlie Christian, Wes Montgomery is undoubtedly one of the most important guitarists in the history of jazz.
All jazz guitarists (but also rock and blues guitarists) can lay claim to his unique style, for he invented the modern guitar solo with his innovative octave and chord playing. From 1959 until his death in 1968, he was a phenomenal success. His influence is undeniable, from George Benson to Jimi Hendrix, Grant Green or John Mc Laughlin.
