"Swing to Bop" is an orchestra formed by Lorenzo Cortés, a young Colombian guitarist based in Paris, passionate about Charlie Christian and recognized as one of the best interpreters of the American guitarist's music. This sextet therefore takes up the repertoire of Benny Goodman with Charlie Christian and in particular the vibraphonist Lionel Hampton in 1939 or with the trumpeter Cootie Williams in 1940. Fascinated by this transitional period from swing to bop, the musicians of "Swing to Bop" surprise by their enthusiasm and communicative energy.
Michel Bonnet (tp), Sylvain Hamel (cl), Lorenzo Cortés (g), Matthieu Meyer (p), Laurent Le Gall (cb) et Thomas Racine (d)
