PRIORITY TO PROFESSIONNAL
The Métanuits, the adaptation of Gyorgy Ligeti’s Métamorphoses Nocturnes by Emile Parisien and Roberto Negro, as generous and dazzled as it is full of reverence for the great Hungarian master. It is both a reduction and a re-writing for saxophone and piano of the famous string quartet written by Ligeti between 1953 and 1954, his first quartet.
Project discussed by the two musicians for the first time in 2014, Roberto and Emile have continued to mature until now this idea of reappropriating this music that deeply marks their bodies and their artistic stories by the intensity and immense commitment that this music gives them. After years of imagining this project, they decide to make a stage creation and a recording that will be released in March 2023, the year of the centenary of the birth of the Hungarian composer
