Since meeting at a Paris jazz jam, Neil Saidi and Noé Codjia have continued to evolve together, always presenting new and original projects.
Back from their trip to New York, they founded the Zoot collectif with a single objective in mind. To revive traditional jazz with a fresh, confident approach. The quintet they present is a prime example. Accompanied by some of the most swinging young rhythmic talents on the Paris jazz scene, their repertoire takes us back to the years of bop and hard-bop. The two acolytes pay tribute to a form of jazz they cherish. Following in the footsteps of the Jazz Messengers, Horace Silver Quintet and Sonny Clark, they also perform their own original compositions.
