Sylvain Le Ray Quartet

Sylvain Le Ray paints a universe that is contemplative, poetic and also very urban. The composer draws his inspiration from the modern jazz of Tigran Hamasyan, Oded Tzur and Christian Scott, but also from traditional music. After a first trio album “The Unchosen Way” (“revelation” Jazz Magazine), for his residency Sylvain tries out a larger formation with his new quintet and offers an original repertoire. Created in 2012, #JazzDeDemain gave birth to a series of residencies, allowing artists to experience the stage and explore a repertoire. #BeCurious! With his friends he expresses intense, sensitive, sometimes poetic music. As in the cinema, let himself dream through this journey which crosses musical landscapes that are sometimes soaring and melancholy but also warm and telluric.
