Certainly the most important jazzman of the second half of the 20th century, the trumpet player and composer Miles Davis has always known evolve and change of direction for purposes at each step of his career the most modern and current jazz. He started to play be-bop with Charlie Parker, then he created the cool jazz in 1949 with "Birth of the Cool" and after he entered in the hard-bop. His first quintet with John Coltrane marked all the spirits as well as the music "Ascenseur Pour l'Echafaud". In 1959 with John Coltrane, Cannonball and Bill Evans he published the masterpiece "King of Blue", spearhead of modal music. Between 1964 and 1968, his second quintet with Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter and Tony Williams is considered as the most innovative jazz band of this period. From 1969, he started electricity and invents the Rock Jazz. After a career break between 1957 and 1980, he returned to his first plan and as super star in 80's, continuing the exploration of new sound research ("Tutu" in 1986). He died in 1991 at 65 while he just recorded a rap album (Doo-Boop). The bassist Jacques Vidal, surrounded by the trumpet player Fabien Mary and the drummer Philippe Soirat, will play the most iconic pieces of Miles (acoustic period) while Lionel Eskenazi tell you about his life and career.
