With his trio escaping from traditional swing style in order to create a colorist atmosphere, Philippe Zygel, a classical formed pianist, converted to jazz, pays tribute to Italian maestro Enrico Pieranunzi. He explores the bridge between the controlled lyrism of classical music and the free improvisation of jazz, with influences from Latin America, a region he's traveled across as a press reporter. Former student of the Bill Evans Piano Academy, Philippe Zygel, who bears as well the mark of Jewish origins from Iran and Poland, plays with Cedric Saville on double bass and Nicolas Signat on drums, who like him discovered jazz music learning at first by themselves. As a special guest, David Florsch brings a 'bel canto' touch on saxophone.
